Educational Experiences and Responsibilities

Rotations                                                           

Rotations are designed to enhance progressive learning and responsibilities in PM&R knowledge, patient care, and leadership. These rotations will change every 1 to 2 months.

Electives                                                                 

Up to 5 elective months are available for rotation in areas such as Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Pain Medicine, Rheumatology, Radiology, Anatomy, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, and Research. An international elective to China can be considered, but is dependent on schedules.

Didactics and workshops                                     

The scheduled residency didactic program typically consisting of 4 one-hour dedicated times/week, which is sometimes modified for workshops. Residents at off-site rotations can join via Zoom.

Call
You will take home call approximately once a month covering patients on the UH and VA units. Home call during the week is from 6pm to 6am via the pager with in-house rounds on the weekends.

 

                              

 

In Service Exams
Residents take in service exams from AAPM&R and AANEM yearly. Residents in the past few years have averaged higher scores than the national average on the AAPM&R self assessment exams.
